Course Outline: Why life drawing! Life drawing is important because it allows you to learn about the human figure and how different body parts move together as one whole unit, such as hips and shoulders moving at the same time. It also gives an insight into why certain poses look more appealing and what looks natural. When you learn life drawing, you will notice your other drawings or paintings will start to look more natural and sophisticated. What do you learn in life drawing? You learn how to draw what you see. This may sound simple but it is actually one of the most challenging things that an artist can do. The best thing about attending life drawing courses is that there are no expectations placed on students when it comes to being able to render an accurate picture. However, you will get lots of support and tips on how to improve so that you get better and better at learning to see and interpret. This class will include some photography, dramatic lighting, some clothed and naked models to help you learn how to get into drawing from life. The classes are perfect for beginners and enthusiasts. Senior High-school students, year 11/12 can attend but only if they have parent permission and if they have some drawing experience of people.
