Course Outline: This class is for young people studying towards the HSC and towards a creative career. What does towards the HSC and creative career mean? It is a long BOW, meaning you cannot just jump into a class late and expect amazing results in year 12. Art practice takes time and dedication and starts becoming more of a possible career focus from about year 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12. My class focuses on the type of art that students want to really explore, technical skill, social engagement and interest based learning for a variety of visual arts projects: drawing, painting, designing, project work, professional illustration, jewellery making and some photography. Popular culture and identity is most often what young people are interested in. Social engagement and interest based learning that aims to meet the young person with where they are at developmentally is all part of my art curriculum. Students will learn visual arts techniques and skills from a hands-on, interest based and strength based approach. We also explore notion of growth mindset as this is essential for creatives.

Classes are staggered so students that start at 3:30pm go till 5:30pm and students that start at 4pm go till 6pm.
