Deep in the Forest – Abstract by Kerry-Anne Knibbs – Hello, and thank you for taking a closer look!
“I have a deep appreciation for symbols and abstract forms, seeing them as catalysts that embody energy in its purest form. In Feng Shui we find that artworks are one of the eight key elements used to attract positive energy and set intentions.”
“Deep in the Forest Where Nobody Goes” is a children’s song, and while it is not about lyrebirds, I find the title fitting. Lyrebirds are elusive and hard to spot in the wild, much like the hidden mystery suggested by the song. Unfortunately, they’ve been misnamed, as they don’t actually “lie"; instead, they are remarkable imitators. Known for their ‘chicken scratching’ behavior, they symbolize a speaker of all languages and a dancer of life. The lyrebird serves as a reminder of our connection to the natural world, inspiring us to cultivate the peace and reverence that are crucial for humanity’s salvation. In their natural habitat, they play a vital role in the forest’s renewal, diligently contributing to the composting process.Looking deeper, the lyrebird and the peacock are often seen as counterparts to the Phoenix, one of the four celestial creatures in Feng Shui. The Phoenix is believed to bring a remarkable turnaround of good fortune to those who have faced hardship, symbolising hope and transformation.
