Why is art so good for mental health?

The arts' valuable role in mental health is being recognised as it can help to boost confidence and make us feel more engaged and resilient. Besides these benefits, art engagement also alleviates anxiety, depression and stress. All classes at Ebb & Flow Studio are design to harness the benefits of art from a strength based approach. Tracey offers a greater focus on therapeutic art for anxiety through her classes - Watercolour Calm and Therapeutic Journalling. If you are after therapeutic art one-to-one for NDIS please contact us via the message box on the HOME page. Additionally we offer Reiki and Sound Therapy.

Why Reiki

“Each and every being has an innate ability to heal as a gift from the gods" Mikayo Usui.

Traditional Japanese Reiki is one of many forms of TCM that is effective in pain management and treating emotional disorders such as depression and PTSD. This is something we offer outside of art making because we believe art making and a harmonious mindset brings deep connection. People use Reiki to relax and strengthen their wellbeing; reduce pain, anxiety, and fatigue; help manage symptoms; reduce side effects of medications; and support recovery after injuries or surgery.

Traditional Japanese Reiki is called taught according to Master Usui and is called: Usui Reiki Ryoho - the great knowledge of life energy. Traditional methods include:

•  The Precepts

•  Meditation Techniques

•  Symbols and Mantras

•  Reiju/Initiation/Attunement

•  Hands-on Healing
